Anna Stearn, is a graduate student completing her final year at the University of Maryland’s School of Social Work.

Before beginning her graduate education, Anna worked at the Johns Hopkins Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research for three years during which, she served as a psychedelic session facilitator on clinical trials exploring the effects of psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy in various clinical populations.

Through these endeavors, Anna witnessed the therapeutic insights psychedelic experiences can occasion when administered in combination with supportive therapy. Coming from a research background, she remains open and curious about how these compounds work and is humbled by being a lifelong learner, incorporating new research findings when working with clients.

Anna's therapeutic approach is influenced by both psychodynamic and cognitive perspectives. She believes in a collaborative and client-driven process, valuing the inner wisdom and healing capacity within each individual. By incorporating techniques from modalities such as Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, and Internal Family Systems, Anna aims to help future clients increase self-awareness and cultivate self-compassion for their past, present, and future selves.

Personally, Anna thrives when she is on the dance floor with her friends, spending time with animals, or listening to one of her favorite comedy podcasts. In her free time, Anna loves to hike in nature, see live music, and create art in various mediums.
